Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is known to be a fierce supporter of gender equality and women’s empowerment. She also identifies as a feminist.

When HRH Meghan caught wind of the terrible allegations surrounding Prince Andrew and his sexual coercion of Virginia Giuffre—a 17-year-old girl, mind you—and his connection to Jeffrey Epstein, she was absolutely disgusted.

According to a report by The Telegraph, Duchess of Sussex, Meghan is “horrified by the manner in which the Duke of York dismissed allegations that he had sex with a teenager.” The age of consent in the U.K. is 16, but the allegations against Andrew came to a head this week when he stepped down from his royal duties with the Queen’s permission and discussed his involvement with Epstein publicly.

“It has become clear to me over the last few days that the circumstances relating to my former association with Jeffrey Epstein has become a major disruption to my family’s work and the valuable work going on in the many organizations and charities that I am proud to support,” he stated.
